Bachmann is one of the world's largest and well known railroad manufacturers. When Dept. 56 requested that they develop a model train to go with their display villages, Bachmann elected to make models of specific real-world locomotives and cars. The result was today's On30 train models.
These trains are about 1/48th the size of the real thing, but they run on HO gauge track which fit almost anywhere.
